10.03.2016Natural gas has been supplied in frontier village of Artanish in Gegharkunik Marz since year beginning, and soon after five families were connected to the system. As reported to Armenpress by the Head of the village, Karen Shushanyan, Artanish was deprived of natural gas supply system even during the soviet times. Having the purpose of supplying gas to the whole community, in 2012-2015 the Rural Areas Economic Development Programs Implementation Unit State Agency of Government Staff of Armenia made allocation of AMD 146 million 817 thousand, as a result of which 5263 m of internal and 6061 m of mid pressure pipeline network was constructed in Artanish community.
“All 133 village households have now access to the gas, although they need to make certain expenses to get connected, as the internal pipeline network is distanced some 20-30 m from the households, - the village mayor continues. And I am sure by the year end all the households would be willing to get connected as the waiting for the blue fuel was long lasting”.
