1. Irrigation Systems Rehabilitation Programme


ISRP was the first IFAD investment project in Armenia. The goal was to build pilot irrigation management systems and introduce management principles. The programme was aimed at contributing to the reduction of rural poverty, which had reached dangerous proportions after the dissolution of the Soviet Union and during the period of transition from public administration to the private. 16 irrigation systems were rehabilitated under the programme and equal quantity of WUAs were established.
